Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa welcomed the Faldo Junior Tour to its 6,810-yard, championship course. Known for its blend of inland links and historic parkland, Luton Hoo’s fairways and greens meander through a centuries-old landscape of transplanted oaks, beeches, and chestnuts, all preserved within its Grade 1 listed estate. This stunning setting proved a fitting stage for some of the country’s most promising young golfers to test their skills.
Leading the field with an exceptional display of consistency and talent was Oliver Toyer, who secured the overall championship title with a final score of -7, shooting rounds of 71, 68, and 73. Toyer’s impressive score highlighted his skill and focus, earning him top honours in both his division and the entire event. Lewy Hayward finished as runner-up in the Boys U21 with a commendable -4, and Dylan Hussey followed closely in third with a score of -2. The fierce competition in this division highlighted the depth of talent among the older boys, as each player displayed skill and determination.
The Girls U21 title was claimed by Grace Lambert, who ended the tournament at +8, shooting rounds of 76, 76, and 75. Grace’s great play showcased her resilience in Luton Hoo’s challenging conditions. Sienna Birch and Jorja Newbold finished runners-up in the division with scores of +19 (238).
In the Boys U16 category, Josh Thompson claimed first place with a score of -5 after impressive rounds of 75, 68, and 71. Finlay Rennie took second place at -3, and Nicholas Curran secured third with a +3 finish, rounding out a strong lineup in this division.
The Girls U16 division saw Ava Gadsby finish in first place with a score of +21 after rounds of 77, 86, and 77. Her determination and poise on the course earned her the top spot, while Caitlin Garrard finished as runner-up.
Preserving the historic landscape of Luton Hoo has been integral to the course’s design, allowing young players the opportunity to experience golf within an environment that celebrates natural beauty and heritage. The unique setting, with six water obstacles and wildflower-dotted fairways, has made Luton Hoo an inspiring venue for our junior golfers to compete and grow, embracing both the sport’s challenges and rewards.
As the final event of our season, the Luton Hoo tournament brought a fitting close to another exciting year of junior golf on the Faldo Series Junior Tour. Our European Grand Final, to be held at Al Ain Shooting, Equestrian & Golf Club in three weeks, promises to showcase even more talent as this year’s winners from across the EU prepare to compete for the European Championship.
