The Faldo Elite Tour Kicked off its season with its first event of this 8 tournament competition, that sees players playing for ranking points in order to gain Challenge Tour Starts.
A large international field of highly ranked under 25 year old players congregated at the very special venue of Real Club de Golf El Prat in Barcelona, competing over 36 holes of high quality stroke play competition.
Marcel Fonseca Aguilar, from Spain, had an amazing first round with -7 under par to have a 2 stroke lead heading into the final round. The field responded on a challenging second days play with Spains, Luis Masaveu having a great final round to win by 1 shot, with a birdie on the 18th hole.
A fitting end to a highly competitive competition that started the Faldo Elite Tour of with a bang. Onto the next event in the tour at Heswall, England on 26th April.
